In the wake of a series of avalanches caused by severe winter, the World Heath Organization has dispatched medical supplies to Pakistan.
An avalanche on February 16 left dozens dead and several injured in Pakistan's Northwest Frontier according to a UN report.
Inadequate roads and lack of communication make it difficult for rescue and relief operations.
Some 120,000 people in the region have received medical supplies from WHO, but the agency promises to do more and send an assessment mission to the area shortly.
