Situation Update
Due to the fall of heavy snow and avalanches in February this year; two of the sub-valleys in Kandia Valley; District Kohistan, namely; Bagro Dara and Soyal dara were badly affected. These small villages (or Daras) come under two UCs Karang and Kareen with a population of 23,728 individuals. In the absence of the availability of helicopter services, blockage of the link road from main KKH at several places had have contributed in the delay distribution of food items to the affected population.
Since the road access to Bagroo Dara became possible, on April 21-22, a PRCS-GRC assessment team headed there for detail assessment of the affected families. As a result of this detail assessment 135 families were identified for assistance to be provided from PRCS district branch.
